Malicious Campaigns against Indian Agriculture

by | Dec 8, 2020

Whenever India becomes a global leader in any agricultural commodity, malicious campaigns funded by foreign sources begin.

When India’s cotton production began to accelerate in early 2000, Greenpeace (international activist NGO) published a study Arrested Development that showed Indian cotton under poor light.

In 2014, Greenpeace published a report Trouble Brewing against Indian tea provoking a sharp reaction from our Ministry of Home Affairs which said, the Greenpeace is trying to hurt Indian tea industry that employed 35 lakh workers and earned $644 million from exports.

In the year 2017, a European media group and an Indian NGO called Kheti Virasat Mission, Punjab produced an illegal documentary entitled Price of Basmati. This documentary attempted to tarnish the image of Indian Basmati rice. Govt. of India later barred this activist NGO from receiving foreign funds.

The latest malicious campaign is targeted against India’s milk industry, the largest in the world. The foreign funds for this came from International Development and Research Center (IDRC) Canada.

For shocking details about this, watch this 4 minute documentary.

Let us raise our voice against the foreign forces who knowingly peddle false information against our progress in agriculture.

It is time for the Indian enforcement authorities to act with an iron fist against the vested interests.
